MAA.

 I’ll be there watching you
Over and over again
Sometimes yelling, sometimes roaring
Sometimes crying out

Up and Up above, rising shine and high
I’ll make you the lamp to give others light
You might smile, laugh
And be angry at times
Believe me child
All this isn’t for a while.

Till you know why I do all those things?
Till you know what I meant to gain?

It’s not about me, never was
And never will be.
It’s about the life,
You need to survive.

If you feel darkness
Close the eyes, you will see light
Somewhere, somehow deep down inside.
No matter how old you are
Or what’ve you become.
I’ll be there watching you

Over and over again.

10 Best Bollywood Movies of 2016

AirLift
After some brilliant movies like Baby, Holiday & Special 26, Akshay Kumar came up with yet another exquisite and patriotic movie in the beginning of year 2016. AirLift was based on the invasion of Iraqis on Kuwait during 1990 for the evacuation of 1,70,000 Indians. This movie was directed & written by Raja Krishna Menon. Direction was not flawless but yet effective and the music suitable. What was brilliant about the movie was its location, cinematography and story development. Akshay did total justice to the character and so did Nimrat Kaur. Why people really connected to the movie? Mainly because of patriotism in the movie and the efforts put by the Indian Government to safely evacuate their citizens.

Neerja
This was another addition to the series of biopics. This movie was based on the hijacking of Pan AM flight in Karachi in 1986. The film was shot from point of view of Neerja Bhanot, airhostess of Pan AM flight who battled against the odds to release the passengers from the hijackers. This movie was a complete package drama and emotions. Needless to say about Sonam Kapoor’s acting skills, she is brilliant in the role and was looking stunning as well. Why this movie? Because sacrifice done by her will bring lots of people into tears.

Aligarh
Aligarh is yet another biographical drama in the year 2016, directed by Hansal Mehta & featuring Manoj Bajpayee as Professor and Rajkumar Rao as Journalist. The movie was based on the life of a professor who taught Marathi in AMU but was removed from his post due to his sexual orientations. When it comes to acting or choice of roles you cannot question Manoj Bajpayee or Rajkumar Rao as they have performed brilliantly in the past and hope will continue doing the same. Why this movie? Because it brings out the subject of mental harassment that many amongst us are facing. So this movie gives a very strong message for the people in the society regarding their behavior for different sexual orientation.

Kapoor & Sons since 1921
The movie is a family drama but somewhat different from typical Karan Johar’s. It is directed by Shakun Batra, featuring Siddharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan & Alia Bhatt. This movie is a story of dysfunctional family who are having various problems yet not ready to confront. This movie beautifully presents modern day scenario where no one has time even for their family. All the actors have done justification to the story as well to the character. Fawad & Siddharth beautifully portrayed love hate relationship among brothers. Alia has done a good job in her space.

Nil Battey Sannata
This is a comedy drama directed by Ashwini Iyyer Tiwari, featuring Swara Bhaskar in lead role. This is a story of a high school dropout single mother who works as a housemaid and wants her daughter to be an Administrative Officer. While her daughter just wants to pass. To teach her daughter a lesson, Swara joins high school again in same class as of her daughter. And then begins the journey with lots of hiccups. Ratna Pathak and Pankaj Tripathi are outstanding in supportive roles. Ashwini being a debutant did a brilliant job with a strong message.

Sarbjit
Yet another biopic in the year featuring Randeep Hooda as an Indian citizen who got death penalty by Apex Court of Pakistan for spying and terrorism & spent 22 years in jail fighting the same. Aishwarya Rai Bacchan played the role of his sister who left no stone unturned to free his brother from jail. Richa Chadda and Darshan Kumar played good supporting roles. Directed by Omung Kumar, the movie portrays the entire journey of Sarabjit Singh, the problems he faced, his pain and his suffering. Music and cinematography added extra points to the movie. No wonder this movie is nominated in Oscars.

Waiting
Waiting is a comedy drama featuring Naseeruddin Shah & Kalki Koechlin in pivotal roles. This movie is a story of unusual relationship between two unknown people who met in hospital’s waiting room when their better halves are in coma. With such brilliant actors all you need is a good story and good direction. Anu Menon has succeeded in that. As the movie progresses you feel that no matter how bad the situations in your life are, you need to keep calm and you will definitely find a way out.

Udta Punjab
Udta Punjab is a crime-drama movie directed by Abhishek Chaubey. This movie highlights the issue of drug abuse in Punjab. Featuring Shahid, Alia, Kareena & Diljit Dosanjh in lead roles, this movie shows what drugs can do. The obsession of youth for drugs is openly shown putting forward a strong point & shows the involvement of local authorities. Direction was not that good but still due to a strong message and some fine acting this movie is worth making into list.

Dangal
Dangal is yet another biopic and last movie of the year. Based on the life of Mahavir Singh Phogat, A wrestler from Haryana who can’t pursue his goal of winning gold in International Championship due to family circumstances, wants his son to win a Gold for India. But unfortunately, he has 4 daughters. So, breaking the taboo, he decided to train his daughters for wrestling. The movie shows the journey, hard work and sacrifices by the family to achieve their dream. Nitesh Tiwari has done an awesome job both as director and as an actor. All the actors are brilliant in their space. You could easily get connected to the movie due to all emotions either as a child or as a parent.

Bollywood Diaries
Most of you might not have seen the movie or the trailer but believe me it’s worth watching. This movie revolves around three individuals who aspire to become Bollywood actors. The direction is not as good as it has to be but still you may find the story inspiring. Through the movie, the director wants to convey that no matter how old you are, there is still time for you to follow your passion. All you need is the hard work and courage to fight against the odds.

Other Noticeable contributions-
Phobia
Laal Rang
Raman Raghav

Notes from The ROAD

SO I PLANNED A TRIP TO UDAIPUR....

So, I planned a trip to Udaipur and was there for 2 days and 3 nights. I had already been to some tourist places viz. Rishikesh, Haridwar, Kasol, Kheerganga etc. But after this trip I am completely spellbound by the beauty of Udaipur. In that duration, we hired two bikes and apart from me, there were 4 others to give me company. One of them is currently studying In RNT medical college, Udaipur. So, we had an upper hand unlike other trips as he knew the city way better than us and may be even better than Google.
Why Udaipur? Wanted to go someplace not so monotonous cold..And needed to keep check on my wallet as well.Another thing I kept in my mind when I planned this trip was that I wanted to see and enjoy natural beauty and adventures.
So, I am gonna write about the places we went, the mesmerizing journey and the people.

Day 1-

We arrived Udaipur around 9’O clock, about an hour later than the scheduled time. We started our day with lunch at Shiv Shakti Restaurant & had a good lunch in every aspect. From there we started to explore Udaipur on our bikes. Our first stop was an Open Gym situated on the bank of Pichola Lake. This was a beautiful spot with some Gym apparatus installed. After that we drove our bikes to The Celebrations Mall. As I currently live in Noida, I can say I have seen the best of Malls but believe me the way this Mall is designed is brilliant. You can see the Rajwada’s flavor added in the infrastructure. After spending some time in mall, we moved to Nathdwara Mandir. What’s new about this is the road by which it is connected. A tunnel is built through the mountains and has its own contributions when it comes to visuals. The same tunnel is on the backside of classmate notebooks nowadays. Other noticeable places to visit are Saheli ki baadi, Sukhadiya Circle and Fateh sagar lake. Fateh sagar lake puts forward equal values and visuals to the visitors as much as the Marine drive in Mumbai does. Last spot for the day was Karnimata Mandir also known as sunset point among the locals. There are two monocable ropeways that connect ground to the top. You can have a beautiful view from the top as well can see the beauty of Pichola Lake. Tourists can also have fun of boating in Pichola Lake.
Conclusion-: Day-1 was more beautiful than expected, obviously not very adventurous but soothing in a peaceful way. Around 80 kms of biking in the whole day and dinner of Dal Baati at Annapurna Dhabha brought the day to a closure.

Day-2

We woke up at 6:30 in the morning as we have to go to Badi lake. Leaving the rooms at 7:30 we took the road to Badi Lake, stopping by for a few minutes to have tea. We stayed for about one hour at the lake. It being a Sunday, many localites were there for breakfast, students for picnic and the scenery was way more beautiful than expected. We took some beautiful photographs and headed back to our rooms. On the way back, we stopped by a beautiful fountain. We had our breakfast and got ready by 11:00 to leave for Sajjangarh. Sajjangarh fort is at quite a height from ground level. Roads to fort are quite steep with sharp turns. On the way up to fort you might feel fear, a rush of adrenaline and blood through your veins. We spent around two and a half hours there and took some photographs. When you are at such heights, you find the view so beautiful that you want to capture the scenery in your memories forever. On the way down we stopped for few photographs of sceneries. From there, we straightaway moved to the Wax Museum. The museum was okay. We had lunch and then rode our bikes on the way to Ubeshwar Temple. What’s really beautiful about Udaipur is either there are lakes at ground level or there are mountains at heights. Same was the case of Ubeshwar Temple. We stayed there till evening, enjoyed the view from heights. At the end of the day, we had our dinner at Udaipur-Ahmedabad highway.
Conclusion:- Day-2 was way more beautiful as well as adventurous. Around 150 kms of biking for the day was more than enough to sleep tight.

Day-3

We woke up relatively late at 9:00 am as we drove last night till 3:00 out in the cold. WOOHOOOO. This was a totally different feeling. This was my first  night out after my college life. We left our rooms by 10:00 am for Haldighati. It took us around 2 hours to reach there. The scene was equally beautiful as the journey was. We paid a visit to City museum also. Well as you all know almost all the museums are same, we were least interested in the museums. So, we had a quick view and then went for camel ride. We left from there around 2:00 pm as we had to catch our train by 6:00 pm. By 4:00 pm we were in our rooms, packed our bags by 4:30 pm and left the hotel by 5:00 pm.
Conclusion:- Day-3 was full of memories. Around 120 kms of biking in 5 hours & such beautiful visuals were a thrilling experience.

Highlights-: Udaipur is a beautiful & clean city free from pollution, traffic etc. You cannot smoke everywhere in the city also you might not find the cigarettes. People are very humble. It’s been a while since I saw such a clean and beautiful station. Food is affordable as well as good. One more interesting and beautiful thing is you will find so many street arts and sculptures. So, if you are planning a trip either with friends or family you must consider UDAIPUR.
